In 2004, the European Board of Urology (EBU) and the European Association of Urology (EAU) joined forces to promote Continuing Medical Education (CME) among urologists across Europe by establishing the EU-ACME (European Urology – Accredited Continuing Medical Education) Committee.

Within the EU-ACME Committee, the EBU and the EAU share equal representation with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • EBU (European Board of Urology): Through its Accreditation Committee, the EBU is responsible for evaluating and accrediting educational events in urology, adhering to the UEMS/EACCME guidelines.

  • EAU (European Association of Urology): The EAU represents urology professionals in Europe and beyond, with a mission to elevate the standard of urological care by:

    • Organizing scientific and educational activities

    • Distributing (semi-)scientific literature and clinical practice guidelines

Collaboration Benefits:

The partnership between the EAU and the EBU within the EU-ACME programme provides effective tools to ensure a professional system with extensive administrative advantages and opportunities.
