More than 18,000 medical professionals from Europe and beyond have already joined the EU-ACME programme. However, only 42% have collected CME/CNE/CPD credit points last year.
The Credit Registry Report states accredited activities, which credits are processed automatically, as well as the activities submitted online. All submitted activities are checked validated by the EU-ACME/CNE office.
Continuing Medical Education (CME), Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) and Professional Development (CDP) consist of educational activities, which serve to maintain and increase the knowledge and develop skills of medical professionals.
Within the CME/CNE/CPD credit system a number of units, commonly called credits, are applied to all approved CME/CNE/CPD activities. The number of credits attributed to the activities depends on the kind of activity.
The EBU CME/CPD credit system
The number of credits considered the minimum necessary for adequate training/experience as a specialist, for a period of five years is defined by the EBU Accreditation committee.
In 2019 the CME/CPD credit system was updated giving CME and CPD more equal importance. The new regulations are valid as of 1st January 2020.
It is recommended to collect a minimum of 200 credits in five years.
The European Board of Paediatric Urology (EBPU) regulations
The number of credits considered the minimum necessary for adequate training/experience as a specialist in paediatric urology, for a period of five years is defined by the European Board of Paediatric Urology (EBPU).
Currently a total of 250 credits within these 5 years is necessary with 125 out of these pure paediatric urology.
The EU-ACME programme provides access to the online CME/CNE/CPD portfolio (MyCME/CNE), allowing its members to check and register activities at any time. Many members have already used our online system and registered activities attended in 2024.
The EU-ACME/CNE office collects and registers events and activities until 31st January 2025.
